VISION
The KBA will continue to be the leading advocate for the banking industry in Kansas, providing services to assist banks in maximizing both their profitability and their accountability.
Major areas of KBA concentration:- Advocacy with the public and government bodies
- Legal assistance
- Educational opportunities
- Offering appropriate insurance and other products for member banks.
Over the next three years, it will be vital to:- Maintain the Association's reputation as a strong voice for the industry at all governmental levels
- Continue current high level of education offerings
- Increase the degree of cooperation with our sister associations
- Sustain a meaningful legal assistance program
- Provide those products and services, including insurance, which banks really need and do so at the appropriate price.
The Association's greatest challenges between now and 2005 will be:- Engage more bankers in the multiple activities of the KBA
- Have bankers become more politically aware and involved
- Provide the most useful assistance in resolving technology issues for our banks
- Assist in rural economic development
- Expand philanthropic efforts with the public
- Spend more time in direct communication with member banks
These challenges can only be accomplished with a highly motivated and experienced staff. The KBA has a rich and proud history. Its "chief end" has not changed. By 2005 we should be able to look back and say, "We have done the right thing and we have established a strong base for the future work of the Association."

Fulfilling our Mission involves the following guiding principles, representative of our core values:

- Our customers are the reason our Association exists
- Our role is to ensure that what we do on a daily or strategic basis enhances membership value
- Our service standards must be flawless, documented, tracked and measured
- Any product or service we provide must meet specific needs of our customer base
- We must represent and advocate effectively for the banking industry with our publics.
- We will enhance our awareness and delivery of service to western Kansas
- We will ensure that the importance of lobbying remains the strength it has historically been.
- Our competitive advantage is the service mentality and capabilities of our Association staff.
- We will recommit to ensuring an internal culture of enhanced teamwork and accountability and will take any and all steps necessary to achieve such
- The Kansas Bankers Association is a responsible citizen and a business leader.
- Going forward, we choose to take an even more proactive role in encouraging and supporting economic growth and development, especially in rural areas
- The KBA will promote and uphold high standards of professionalism and ethics.
Strategic Priorities
- Position the Association for leadership continuity and ongoing staff development, ensuring a culture of enhanced teamwork.
- Create and maintain a higher level of member communication and member involvement.
- Provide member banks opportunities to enhance income thru non-traditional products and services.
- Enhance the Association's use of technology and technology resourcefulness to bank membership.
- Elevate political awareness/involvement of banks and sustain the KBA's reputation as a "top notch" lobbying organization.
- Proactively assist with efforts to keep rural communities alive.
- Proactively seek Association income diversification with products/services aligned with core needs of membership.
